Our Founder

Kim Pekin, MS, CNM, CPM

Kim Pekin is a dedicated and experienced midwife with over 15 years in community midwifery as a CPM and valuable experience as a CNM in a hospital-based practice. Her diverse educational background includes a Bachelor of Business Administration, completion of a certificate program at National Midwifery Institute (a MEAC-accredited midwifery school), a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from George Mason University, and a Masters of Science in Midwifery from Thomas Jefferson University, where she is currently pursuing a Doctor of Midwifery. Having previously owned two CABC-accredited freestanding birth centers, she possesses deep insights into practice management and accreditation. Additionally, Kim served on the NARM Board for over 10 years and two terms on the Virginia Midwifery Advisory Board. She was instrumental in passing legislation to enhance the practice environment for Licensed Midwives. in Virginia.
